Open Society Afghanistan

Open Society Afghanistan is committed to supporting and defending civil society through the coming years of political and security transition in Afghanistan.  As a donor, our office focuses on women’s rights, access to justice, and independent media.

For many years, we have played an important role as a neutral venue for civil society coalitions to meet, including those advocating for the rights of victims of war, women’s rights, and the rights of detainees to due process. The Open Society Afghanistan is building on this experience to work with civil society groups as they develop strategies and responses for the challenges and opportunities presented by Afghanistan’s transition.
