Indonesia, while still facing hurdles to its democratic development, has the potential to evolve into the world’s third largest democracy after the United States and India. The Tifa foundation has contributed to this evolution by supporting efforts that strengthen the rule of law and protect and advance the rights of all citizens, including women, minority groups, and marginalized populations. The foundation’s main areas of activity focus on human rights and access to justice, equality and citizenship, civil society and democracy, local governance, and information and media.
