Funding from OSI's Documentary Photography Project supports the National Geographic All Roads Photography Program.
In 2003, the National Geographic Society (NGS) launched the All Roads Photography Program to support and empower local photographers to tell their own stories in their home countries. Funding from OSI will support three photographers chosen by NGS in 2010 to produce a body of work. Grantees must come from and reside in the country of the project. Support from NGS also includes a website created by liveBooks, photographic equipment and software, and a mentoring program. Through the mentoring program, All Roads grantees travel to New York and Washington, D.C. for prearranged meetings with photo editors, NGOs, foundations, publishers, and photo agencies. The work produced by the grantees is curated by NGS in an exhibition that tours multiple venues internationally.
