Learning from Change in Drug Policy: The Case of Switzerland
The purpose of the grant is to provide support to the Columbia University in their study of the developments in Swiss drug policy, especially related to the November 2008 referendum, in their historical context to develop a case study from which lessons for drug policy change can be drawn internationally. The case study will permit analysis of the Swiss experience especially to answer the questions of how changes came about and whether those determinants of change are replicable in other countries or otherwise provide useful cautions or lessons for policy change elsewhere.
