Latin American Initiative on Drugs and Democracy
The Center sought funding in order to promote the dissemination and public debate of the Declaration and Report of the Latin American Comission on Drugs and Democracy, launched in February 2008. They organize, support and participate in meetings in the Americas (USA, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Paraguay, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil) and in Europe (London, Madrid) with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, experts, media, among others, to foster changes in national and international drug policy.
They also produce new materials on drug policy to specific public target groups, including members of parliaments, adolescents, etc., and assist in the development and treatment of a documentary on drugs and violence anchored by Fernando Henrique Cardoso, the former president of Brazil.
