The purpose of the grant is to support Release Leads Ltd in administering the International Drug Policy Consortium focusing on four areas: networking and communication, producing analyses and recommendations, and advocacy both at UN and national levels.
The project focuses on four broad areas: networking and communication, producing analyses and recommendations, and advocacy both at UN and national levels. The activities will result in: an efficient global mechanism for information exchange and advocacy planning; the ongoing production of a series of reports, briefing papers and advocacy notes which articulate the weaknesses of current drug policy and promote more humane and effective ways forward; increased support among governments and NGOs for a more system-wide mechanism to determine UN drug policy; and a toolkit for humane and effective national policy which will be promoted at formal meetings in eight national capitals.
