Access Info Europe Core Project Activities

Access Info Europe (AIE) advocates for ratification and implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Access to Official Documents. AIE also advocates for greater transparency from the EU, in particular the high-level decision-making that affects the rights of EU citizens to address both the rules and practice of accessing EU documents. In addition, AIE litigates on policies that impact civil liberties and reviews the anti-terror laws in the Council of Europe region.

Freedom of Information Advocates Network (FOIAnet) 2010-2011: Harnessing Communication to Create Change

Access Info Europe (AIE), as coordinator of FOIAnet, promotes peer-to-peer support for legal and campaign efforts by strengthening the existing tools of the FOIAnet community through a discussion list and website. AIE works on maximizing the use of communication technology, providing video-conferencing, blogging, and mini documentaries, so that members in developing countries can connect right to information (RTI) activists in their countries to the global RTI movement.
