To provide general support to the Applied Research Center (ARC). Founded in 1981 in Oakland, CA, ARC produces national advocacy-based research, provides training to grassroots organizations, and conducts communication campaigns to illustrate the role of race in public policy. Through its three programs, Media and Journalism, Strategic Research and Policy Analysis, and the Racial Justice Leadership Action Network, it generates stories and content that offer new frames and ideas to challenge structural inequality in the U.S.
