Astraea supports social, racial, and economic justice in the U.S. and internationally; it is a global leader in grantmaking in support of lesbians, transgender people, and other communities marginalized due to discrimination based on sexual orientation and/or gender identity. This grant provides support for Astraea’s U.S. General Fund, which supports LGBTQ people of color organizations working to advance racial justice and LGBTQ rights. The grant also enables an Open Society Foundations-advised grantmaking partnership that supports organizations advocating at the national and regional levels for the rights of the most vulnerable LGBTQ communities.
