The Border Network for Human Rights (BNHR) is an El Paso-based grassroots membership organization that combines community organizing, leadership development, litigation, and policy advocacy to build the voice and power of those who are hardest hit by border and immigration policies, and to address the systemic injustices facing border communities. These efforts have built a membership base that includes close to 4,000 individuals (including more than 700 families) across the immigrant communities of El Paso, Texas, and southern New Mexico. This general support grant will support BNHR’s efforts to strengthen multiple task forces along the U.S.-Mexico border, build the capacity of border communities, and help use the local border experience to influence the national debate on border enforcement policies.
