CBMA funding will support the leadership-development training of over 250 young black men in CDF's Youth Advocate Leadership Training (YALT) program, which empowers young leaders of color. YALT participants learn organizing and social-networking skills, and sharpen their skills as effective communicators, analytic thinkers, problem solvers, and persistent advocates. In addition, a number of YALT participants will serve as mentors in CDF Freedom Schools. Over the next two years, at least 250 young men will be recruited to participate in YALT, primarily from CBMA's core investment regions.
