Garcia will challenge the selective enforcement of low-level offenses against communities of color through a campaign involving public education, advocacy, and litigation.

Garcia, a JD Candidate at Fordham University School of Law, has interned and clerked at the Bronx Defenders, the Leitner Center International Law & Development in Africa Clinic, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund’s Criminal Justice Project, the ACLU’s Center for Justice, and the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem. She is a Fordham Law Stein Scholar for Public Interest, was Notes and Articles Editor for the Fordham Urban Law Journal, and served as a member of the school’s Trial Advocacy Center. Garcia is a summa cum laude graduate of Hunter College and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
