The Open Society Foundations U.S. Programs aims to address core threats to open society, including increasingly punitive national security policies, decreasing government transparency, entrenched structural racism, and growing incarceration rates.

  • A New Faith Community 2012

    A grant to improve services by developing a fundraising and strategic plan, and engage in a program evaluation.

  • American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists 2012

    A grant to design and garner support for a model of health care that improves the recruitment and retention of substance-using women in treatment and preserves the unity of the family.

  • Angelica Foundation—US 2012

    A grant to support the “End the Drug War” Peace Caravan.

  • Behavioral Health Leadership Institute Inc. 2012

    A grant to expand access to drug addiction treatment by integrating these services within a community based mental health service project.

  • Brandeis University Libraries 2012

    A grant to enable the Institute for Behavioral Health to develop a white paper setting out models for community-based financing that would support a broad range of cost-effective health and harm reduction services for all drug users, including those not engaged in treatment.

  • Community Studies of New York, Inc. 2012

    A grant to support the Marijuana Arrest Research Project.

  • Drug Policy Alliance 2012

    A grant to provide $40,000,000 in general support and $10,000,000 in project support to make grants or contracts to public charities to advance drug policy reform.

  • Fusion Partnerships, Inc. 2012

    A grant to help the Baltimore Student Harm Reduction Coalition move from an all-volunteer to a staffed organization in an effort to increase its organizational and advocacy capacity.

  • Incentive Mentoring Program 2012

    A grant to support the development of a program evaluation and monitoring system.
