Adem Ademi is program manager with responsibility for the youth portfolio of the Roma Initiatives Office. Before joining the Open Society Foundations in late 2012, he was program coordinator at the Decade of Roma Inclusion Secretariat Foundation in Budapest.
In 2012, Ademi served as a member of the Advisory Council on youth of the Council of Europe. He is also a Council of Europe–recognized trainer who has delivered more than 30 training sessions on themes related to Roma youth at national and international levels. From October 2011 to October 2012, he was president of the Forum of European Roma Young People.
He has also been a consultant on Roma issues for the Open Society foundation in Macedonia as well as an advisor to the Macedonian government minister serving as national coordinator of the Decade of Roma Inclusion.
Ademi worked for two years as a journalist for Macedonia’s A1 TV after completing a one-year professional course at the Macedonian Institute for Media. He holds a BA in contemporary sciences and technologies from South East European University in Tetovo, Macedonia.
