Amrita Palriwala is a program officer with the Access to Essential Medicines Initiative of the Open Society Foundations. She oversees grants to organizations advocating for access to medicines and health, primarily in Eastern and Southern Africa.
Previously, Palriwala led policy research projects at the Results for Development Institute, focusing on health financing and the development of-and access to-new drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics in developing countries. Palriwala has also worked at The Advisory Board Company, advising U.S. hospitals and health care systems on strategy and operations. She has conducted economic analysis for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, and for the U.S. Congressional Budget Office.
Palriwala holds a master’s degree in health economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
