Amy McDonough

Amy McDonough is a program assistant with the Open Society Foundations in Washington, D.C. She supports the Foundations’ advocacy work on Eurasia and public health.

Previously she worked at John Snow, Inc. (JSI) on USAID’s Maternal and Child Health Project, where she supported immunization programs in sub-Saharan Africa and Central Asia. She has also held positions at the United Kingdom Mission to the United Nations, the International Rescue Committee, and the Office of Senator Edward M. Kennedy.

Amy holds a BA in diplomacy and world affairs from Occidental College in Los Angeles. She has studied and worked in South Africa, Rwanda, Malawi, and Ethiopia.
