Andrea Horvath

Andrea Horvath has been working for the Open Society Program on Independent Journalism since 1999, as senior financial project manager, responsible for grant implementation, management reporting, and internal audit issues.

Prior to joining the Open Society Foundations, she worked as an editor for the Publishing House of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences; a study director and teacher of advanced-level business English for a postgraduate management training school; as well as a senior translator, interpreter, and business analyst for the Management Team of a global investment bank, also responsible for the community development (charity) activities of the company.

She has a master’s degree in English and Hungarian language and literature, and obtained the postgraduate Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance of the British Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. She is Hungarian and speaks fluent English and German, and intermediate-level Russian and Spanish.
