Hakan Altinay is a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, where he works on issues on questions of constituency building and normative frameworks for enhanced global cooperation and governance. His book, Global Civics: Responsibilities and Rights in an Interdependent World, was published in English by Brookings Institution Press (2011), and in Chinese by Shanghai People’s Publishing House (2012). He was the founding executive director and is the current chairman of the Open Society Foundation in Turkey. He is also a global ethics fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, and a world fellow at Yale University. He lectures on global civics and global governance at various universities around the world.
