Until June 2013, Heddy Nam was a program associate in the U.S. Programs’ Special Initiatives and Partnerships Unit.
Prior to joining the Open Society Foundations in 2011, Nam spent four years at Amnesty International USA working on strategic planning, campaigns to combat gender-based violence and crimes against humanity, and most recently served as the assistant to the executive director. Additionally, she has worked on youth development and human rights advocacy with a variety of organizations in the United States, Cambodia, and Rwanda.
She is a native of South Korea and a graduate of Barnard College where she obtained her BA in political science and human rights studies.
