Mary Joyce has been a consultant to the Open Society Health Media Initiative since 2009. She provides technical assistance with communication and social media strategies to the grantees of the Open Society Public Health Program.
She is the founder of the Meta-Activism Project, a nontraditional digital activism think tank, and has edited Digital Activism Decoded, a book of essays on the context and practices of digital activism around the world. She is presently an MA/PhD Student in Communication at the University of Washington.
