Mary Wandia is the regional program officer, a joint Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa and Afrimap position to promote democratic governance mechanisms at the East African Community and African Union. She has more than a dozen years of experience in policy research, advocacy campaigns and civil society coalition building at the regional level.
Prior to joining OSIEA, Wandia worked with Actionaid International as the women’s rights coordinator before becoming the focal point on gender justice and governance with Oxfam GB’s Pan Africa Programme. She also worked as an advocacy officer with FEMNET (African Women’s Development and Communications Network). She holds a BA in education from Kenyatta University and an MA in international studies from the University of Nairobi.
