Sally McGregor is Emeritus Professor of Child Health and Nutrition at the Institute of Child Health, part of the University College London’s Centre for International Health and Development (CIHD). McGregor has spent 30 years in Jamaica where she has built up a strong research base looking at the effect of infections, poor nutrition, and deprivation on children’s development. She consults for the WHO, UNICEF, the WFP, and several NGOs. For the past several years, McGregor has conducted research on the effects of early stimulation and nutrition on child development in Bangladesh, Colombia, and Jamaica. She chaired the international group that wrote the series of groundbreaking articles on international child development that appeared in the Lancet in 2007.
