Sian Maseko has a Masters from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, where she worked in the NGO sector on women’s rights. Since moving to Zimbabwe seven years ago, Maseko has worked with several organizations to lobby for legislation such as the Domestic Violence Act, provide public education on sexual and reproductive health, and promote legal services for women and sexual rights. The Sexual Rights Centre was established in Bulawayo in 2007 and Maseko has served as its director since 2008. She has published several articles and presented papers on sexual rights in Zimbabwe and the work of the Sexual Rights Centre, particularly its work with the LGBTI community and sex workers.
