We seek innovators from around the world who offer unconventional approaches to emergent open society challenges.
The Open Society Fellowship selects leading practitioners in journalism, advocacy, public policy, academia, and the arts who are able to engage productively with the Foundations.

Open Society Fellowship

The Open Society Fellowship was founded in 2008 to support individuals pursuing innovative and unconventional approaches to fundamental open society challenges. The fellowship funds work that will enrich public understanding of those challenges and stimulate far-reaching and probing conversations within the Open Society Foundations and in the world.

The Open Society Fellowship invites proposals responding to a specific proposition or provocation relevant to the work of the Foundations. Current fellows are examining various dimensions of the perceived global crisis in human rights.

The Open Society Fellowship program also administers the New Executives Fund and the Open Society Internship for Rights and Governance.
