Andreas Hieronymus is a program officer in the Migration and Inclusion Unit of the Open Society Initiative for Europe, where he is responsible for the inclusion portfolio.
Prior to joining the Open Society Foundations, Hieronymus worked as a researcher at different universities and ran an independent research and advocacy institute for 18 years. He also served as a board member of the European Network Against Racism for nine years, playing a role in the reorganization of the network. He worked as well in the Diversity Unit of the Ministry of Justice in Hamburg, and he built up the Masculinity Unit in their Gender Department. More recently, he has worked as a consultant on diversity issues.
Hieronymus studied sociology, history, and political science in Freiburg, Hamburg, and Istanbul, and has a PhD in sociology.
