Beka Vučo is the regional manager for the Western Balkans at the Open Society Initiative for Europe. Throughout the course of her career, she has worked at many distinguished cultural and human rights organizations in both the former Yugoslavia and the United States, where she moved to in 1987. Vučo joined the Open Society Foundations in 1991, working as a regional director in the New York office where she helped establish Open Society foundations in the Western Balkans.
Vučo graduated from University of Belgrade and holds an MA in business administration and management from the University of California, Los Angeles, which she attended as a Fulbright scholar. As a photographer, Vučo has helped document conflict, attacks on open society, and renewal in the Balkans.
