Greg Czarnecki is the LGBTI program officer of the Open Society Human Rights Initiative. His work focuses on Europe and Eurasia.
Previously, he worked in Warsaw with the Campaign Against Homophobia (KPH), a national Polish organization, where he eventually joined the board. He has also served as a board member of ILGA-Europe, the European arm of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association (ILGA).
Czarnecki is a graduate of the European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation (EMA) at the European Inter-University Centre (EIUC) in Venice; his thesis compared homophobia and anti-Semitism in Poland. He also holds a BA in environmental studies, with a concentration on environmental and social, justice from the University of Vermont.
