Katharine Boaden is a program officer with the Open Society Public Health Program, where she focuses on mental health reform and promoting the rights of people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities.
Prior to joining Open Society, Boaden served as a program manager for an international development organization, managing health programs in a number of countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Before that, she was coordinator of an alliance of mental health organizations campaigning for fairer mental health legislation in the United Kingdom, and worked in policy and campaigns for the United Kingdom’s leading intellectual disability charity. She has also worked in India, supporting an NGO for women living with HIV and AIDS.
Boaden received a BSc in social policy and sociology from the London School of Economics and is currently pursuing an MSc in psychology.
