Maija Arbolino is responsible for oversight of all financial operations, including budget, management reporting, grants management, and accounting.
She joined the Open Society Foundations in 1995, first working as the controller for national foundations and managing the audits for the various U.S. foundations. She was promoted to director of finance and then chief financial officer.
Arbolino has a BA in economics from the University of Rochester, and an MBA in corporate finance and accounting from the Simon School at the University. A certified public accountant, she began her career at Coopers and Lybrand, moving on to the banking industry with several years at Bankers Trust and then Kidder Peabody.
