Mario Tascon

Mario Tascon is director of the communications agency and consulting firm Prodigioso Volcan, which advises various international media including El País in Spain, La Tercera in Chile, El Heraldo in Colombia, Harper’s Bazaar in Spain, El Universal in Mexico, and Antena 3 TV and Radio Cadena SER in Spain.

Tascon teaches at the New Ibero-American Journalism Foundation Gabriel García Márquez. He was founder and deputy editor of the newspaper El Mundo in Spain and went on to become director of elmundo.es. In 2001, Tascon became director general of digital content for the Prisa Group and director of elpais.com, the leading Spanish-language newspaper in the world. In 2008, he founded the digital newspaper lainformacion.com

Tascon has been a consultant to  various international media organizations including  Corriere della Sera in Italy, La Nacion in Argentina, El Mercurio in Chile, Grupo Abril in Brazil, and El País in Uruguay.
