Michael Paller is a program manager with the Open Society Scholarship Programs. He helps develop and oversee several student and faculty initiatives in Asia including the Civil Society Leadership Awards, the Civil Society Scholar Awards, and the Burma Junior Faculty Awards.
Previously, he served as the deputy director of the Human Rights Education Institute of Burma, an NGO that facilitates a broad range of training and advocacy programs for grassroots organizations and community leaders. He also worked with Child Soldiers International, where he conducted research on children affected by armed conflict.
Paller has an MA in international development from Chulalongkorn University and a BA in politics and sociology from Brandeis University.
