Nargis Sultana is a senior program officer for education at the Open Society Foundations–Pakistan, which she joined in June 2007.
Sultana’s work has been published in a number of publications, including Pakistan Development Review, the country’s leading journal of economic research. She is also the co-author of the book, Pakistan’s Economic Performance: 1947 to 1993—A Descriptive Analysis.
Sultana has vast experience working in the education, economic, and other social sectors, and has conducted research on social and economic issues. In addition to working with FAO/UNDP, she has worked as an education specialist at MSU/World Bank, a senior program officer (education) at DFID, and research manager for IFPRI/USAID.
She holds an MSc degree in economics from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. During her academic career, she received several awards and distinctions.
