Sarah Baker

Sarah Baker is a program specialist with the Open Society U.S. Programs’ justice team, where she works to support policies and programs aimed at reducing incarcerated populations in the United States, ending the harsh punishment of youth in the justice system, and transforming the ways in which governments respond to youth in conflict with the law.

Prior to joining Open Society, Baker managed international grant making for the Starr Foundation’s Switzerland office. As a student at Columbia University, she spent time living in Dakar, Senegal, where she worked with an NGO serving women seeking legal counsel and refuge from intimate partner violence. Baker holds a BA in French literature from Columbia, and is fluent in English, French, and German.
