Pakistan on the Brink: The Future of America, Pakistan, and Afghanistan (March 27, 2012)

David Rohde and Ahmed Rashid will discuss Rashid's book Pakistan on the Brink: The Future of America, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, which is the first to take a comprehensive look at how President Obama’s administration has handled the relationship between the U.S. and Pakistan.

Rashid, a leading journalist in Pakistan, draws on his keen knowledge of the region to deftly explain what the future may hold. He addresses concerns about the current state of Pakistan, the ramifications of the U.S. exit from Afghanistan, the possibilities of negotiating with the Taliban, the key points about the neighboring states, and most important, the questions to keep in mind over the coming year and through the 2012 Presidential election.
