Hank Willis Thomas is a conceptual photo artist who explores themes related to identity, history, and popular culture.

His work has been displayed across the United States and around the world, at The Museum of Modern Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Musée du quai Branly, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., among others. He is a member of the Public Design Commission for the City of New York, and in 2015 co-founded For Freedoms, an artist-run super PAC.

Thomas received a BFA from New York University, and an MA and MFA from the California College of the Arts.
