Marbre Stahly-Butts will organize and support those affected by drug-related evictions in New York City to protect their rights and advocate for the end of such policies.
Stahly-Butts is a member of the Yale Law School class of 2013. While in law school, she focused on the intersection of criminal justice and civil rights and gained legal experience with the Bronx Defenders, the Equal Justice Initiative and the Prison Policy Initiative. She also created a peer-education curriculum and manual to help incarcerated parents involved in family law proceedings. Stahly-Butts received her MA in African Studies from Oxford University and spent a year in Zimbabwe working on issues of community healing and restoration. She also holds a BA (summa cum laude) in African-American History and Human Rights from Columbia University.
