Bartosiewicz will write a book that will explore how domestic prosecutions in the “war on terror” have transformed the U.S. justice system, making it less just and an institutionalized threat to the liberties of all Americans.
A freelance journalist, Bartosiewicz has written for Harper’s, Mother Jones, The Nation, New York magazine, and other publications. She has also contributed radio documentaries to This American Life and was a reporter for the New York Observer. Bartosiewicz was an honorable mention for the 2010 Molly Ivins Award for Civil Liberties and Social Justice, received the 2009 Newswomen’s Club of New York Award for Best Radio Documentary, and was awarded the Alicia Patterson Fellowship in 2009. She is a graduate of Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and University of Virginia.
