Supported by OSI's Roma Education Initiative and organized by the Developmental Research Centre for Educational Initiatives "Step by Step," the Step by Step program NGO in Slovenia, this training event was the first in a series of three and designed specifically for Southeastern European participants. The purpose of this first training was for participants to experience Module 1 of the newly created Adult Education for Social Justice Curriculum. Attendees participated in the training, an essential experiential first step in becoming trainers themselves in the material. The event was conducted by the following international experts:
- Nancy Jean Smith (USA), associate professor specializing in teacher education and multilingual/multicultural education, California State University-Stanislaus;
- Zorica Trikic (Serbia), psychologist and pedagogue, master teacher trainer for CIP;
- Jelena Vranjasevic (Serbia), psychologist and CIP board member;
- Edgar Lampkin (USA).
