Supported by OSI's Roma Health Project, the European Roma Rights Center organized a training on advocacy on the right to health care in Sofia on April 14-19. The workshop was a pilot project and represented a significant ERRC-OSI joint training event in the Roma/Human Rights Education training calendar. It had a specific focus on health-related rights of Romani women and brought together 18 representatives of Romani women NGOs and activists from six countries.

The main goal of the training was to assist in the capacity building of Roma women's rights activists and professionals to skillfully use international and domestic human rights mechanisms in advancing the health interests of Roma communities, both at domestic and international levels. The scope of the training was also to make the participants familiar with the basic concepts of human rights and the major problems in the area of Roma rights in health care settings.
