What happens to kids after they “age out” of the foster care system? Drawing on 15 years of experience, former Soros Justice Fellow Betsy Krebs and Paul Pitcoff will discuss ways that these teens can transition successfully to adulthood. Kevin Keegan will talk about how to support and teach in such a way that teens are able to think critically about their options, and better able to make decisions about their own futures. Deshaun Clement, who recently graduated from New Pathways and currently mentors new clients, will discuss these issues from a firsthand perspective.

Copies of Betsy Krebs and Paul Pitcoff’s book, Beyond the Foster Care System: The Future for Teens (Rutgers University Press), will be on sale at the forum.
