The Eastern Partnership in 2014: Turning Point for Some, Insecurity for All

The European Integration Index for Eastern Partnership Countries combines independent analysis with the most recent annual quantitative data to chart the progress made by the six EU eastern partners towards deeper political and economic integration with the EU. The newest edition of the index is produced by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, the International Renaissance Foundation, the Open Society European Policy Institute, and the Policy Association for an Open Society.

In 2014, a deeper divergence in the ambition and progress among the EU’s six partners is more visible than ever. Is it still relevant to consider policy making for the Eastern Partnership as a whole? How should the EU respond to the growing insecurity in the region? What are the key lessons that policy makers should consider as they prepare for the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga in May 2015? These are some key questions our panelists will explore as they present this year’s index and its findings.
