An international training seminar in gender and development for young Roma men and women community activists, organized by the PAKIV European Roma Fund and OSI's Network Women's Program.

The training workshop provides participants with a) a general understanding of gender-related concepts and b) specific understanding of how to use various gender analysis and gender planning frameworks.

The training involves a facilitated process to analyze the relative position of men and women in the division of resources and responsibilities, benefits and rights, and power and privilege. Through the training, participants learn about step-by-step tools for carrying out gender analysis, which helps to raise questions, analyse information, and develop strategies to increase women's and men's participation in and benefits from projects and programs. Furthermore, the process allows for a better understanding of the realities of the women and men–and girls and boys–whose lives are changed by planned development actions. The training process should prepare participants to conduct community-based gender analyses.

Participating countries include Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia.
