This discussion is led by representatives from Open Society grantee Equal Education, a movement of learners, parents, teachers, and community members working for quality and equality in South African education, through analysis and activism.

Young activists from Equal Education’s Policy Department visited New York, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., to explore the theme of "Civil Society Strategies to Address Education Inequality." The visit provided an opportunity to interact with representatives from U.S. civil society and academia, and exchange experiences in efforts to bring about education reform through social activism.
