The Open Society Foundations invite you to a special screening of Cries from Syria with the Oscar-nominated director of the film, Evgeny Afineevsky.
Cries from Syria brings us face to face with child protesters, revolutionary icons, activists and their families, and high-ranking Syrian Arab Army generals who defected to join the opposition to the Assad regime. This powerful film provides a unique window into the Syrian civil war, telling the story of Syrian people who have not lost hope.
A 30-minute reception with Evgeny Afineevsky will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by the two-hour screening. Afterwards, Afineevsky will have a conversation about the film with Gregory Maniatis, featuring a Q&A with the audience.
