The involvement of civil society in criminal justice reform is crucial to access to justice. Civil society not only holds governments accountable, but also provides legal aid, advocates for reforms, and protects defendants’ rights.
Panelists at this Open Society Foundations event will discuss innovative approaches to criminal justice reform in Liberia, Malawi, and Zambia. They will share their experience with reducing the average length of pretrial detention, litigating for defendant’s rights, and ensuring due process.
Panelists
Augustine Toe, Executive Director, Catholic Justice and Peace Commission, Liberia
