The One World Human Rights Film Festival will kick off its opening night with the film Gyumri, which documents the continual grieving process of Armenian families 20 years after a destructive earthquake. The film festival is sponsored by  People In Need, which is a grantee of the Open Society Institute.

The festival will feature documentaries from countries including China, Russia, Senegal, and Iran.
