In July 2013 the Open Society Campaign for Black Male Achievement brought together leaders from the mentoring field to participate in an ongoing discussion to develop plans to more effectively respond to the challenges black boys are facing across the United States.

The event, held at the Muhammad Ali Center, featured keynote speakers Trabian Shorters of BMe and Phillip Jackson of the Black Star Project, local entertainment from the Maestro J Band, and a spoken word performance from Chicago-based artist FM Supreme. The documentary American Promise was also screened at the event with local youth from the Louisville area joining.

Rumble, Young Man, Rumble III was hosted by the following organizations: Fathers Incorporated, Mentoring USA, Black Butterfly, Inc, Urban Leadership Institute, Strategic Destiny, Macedonia Initiatives in Community Development, Eagel Academy, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Maryland, Concerned Black Men National, Brodrick Clarke Consulting, LLC, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and the Open Society Foundations.
