Over 160 high school students and educators participated in the first annual Youth Leadership Summit, established by the United Nations Foundation in partnership with OSI, IDEA, and the National Forensics League.
OSI sponsored delegations from the top six international schools participating in the People Speak Global Debates this past year, helping groups from Bulgaria, Chile, Moldova, Slovakia, and South Africa attend the Summit. The young people did outstanding work raising awareness of climate change within their schools and throughout their communities.
At the summit, young people shared their ideas through a series of panels on climate issues. They also participated in media and advocacy workshops and an environmentally themed service learning day.
