Representatives of Roma advocacy organizations supported by the Open Society Public Health Program were selected by the European Commission to participate in the European Union Open Health Forum, "Together for Health–A Strategy for the EU 2020," hosted in Brussels on June 29-30, 2010. The organizations included Amalipe (Bulgaria), European Roma Rights Centre (Hungary), National Roma Centrum (Macedonia), Roma SOS (Macedonia), and Romani C.R.I.S.S. (Romania).
The forum provided Roma activists with the opportunity to contribute to the EU-level debate on recent developments in shaping the health policy agenda. Roma civil society representatives made use of this opportunity to advance the Roma health issue on the European public health policy agenda.
As a result of the conference, a call for action was issued, which can be accessed on the European Public Health Alliance website.
