The Open Society Foundations today announced $500,000 of emergency funding to assist Albania in the aftermath of the earthquake that hit Tuesday.
The Open Society Foundation–Albania will use the funds to help recovery and rebuilding efforts, with a focus on supporting those least able to cope with the calamity.
The Open Society Foundations, established by George Soros, have a long history of working in Albania and have provided over $130 million since 1992 to support the country’s social and political development.
